  1. Zend Announces General Availability of Zend Server 5.0: New Version Delivers Increased Performance, Faster Problem Resolution for Critical PHP Web Applications

Zend Server 5.0 Reduces Problem Resolution Time by up to 50 Percent; Adds Job Queue for Improved End-user Experience; Includes Support for PHP 5.3

Cupertino, CA February 24, 2010 — Zend Technologies, the PHP Company, today announced the general availability of Zend Server 5.0, a major new version of the company’s PHP Web application server. New Code Tracing technology in Zend Server 5.0 enables PHP developers and administrators to slash problem resolution time by up to 50%. For the first time, users have visibility into the behavior of their code in production environments, with the ability to pinpoint the root cause of application issues quickly and eliminate the time-consuming and sometimes near impossible task of recreating problems in order to resolve them.

“Zend Server 5.0 is a huge step forward for businesses running business-critical PHP Web applications,” said Andi Gutmans, CEO and co-founder at Zend. “With this new version we are delivering application monitoring and diagnostics as part of the base application server at no additional cost. The new Code Tracing technology revolutionizes how businesses can reduce time spent on problem resolution. This and other enhancements will help businesses deliver reliable high-performance applications and maximize end-user satisfaction while reducing development and management time and costs.”

ZEND SERVER 5.0 – ENTERPRISE-GRADE PHP WEB APPLICATION SERVER
Zend Server 5.0 optimizes application performance through multiple PHP caching and acceleration technologies, helps detect and diagnose issues through application monitoring, and provides a complete, tested PHP application stack for Windows and Linux. The product is backed by expert technical support, online updates, hot fixes and security patches. Zend Server is fully integrated with the Zend Studio PHP IDE, and Zend Framework, the most popular open source PHP framework, creating the fastest and easiest solution for developing and deploying reliable and secure Web applications. Also available is a free, community edition of Zend Server.

    INNOVATIVE CODE TRACING TECHNOLOGY
Zend Server 5.0 Code Tracing eliminates the need to recreate problems by automatically capturing in real-time the full execution history of an application in a production environment. Now developers can quickly find the root cause of a problem rather than following a lengthy, error-prone process to reproduce it. Code Tracing can be activated manually or automatically when performance degrades or errors are detected through Zend Server application monitoring.

A new Zend Server view, based on Adobe Flex, provides visibility into recorded data, showing a tree of function calls, arguments, errors and duration, as well as statistical information that helps in identifying performance bottlenecks in production.

With Zend Server 5.0, PHP developers can cut troubleshooting time by up to 50% and ensure greater application reliability while recouping valuable time for programming tasks.

“I have saved up to four hours a day of debugging time using Code Tracing in Zend Server 5.0,” said Drew Ewing, a PHP programmer at CyberMark International. “For 99.9% of the debug processes that I’m concerned with, Zend Server automatically gathers all of the necessary debug information that I used to gather manually. The countless hours I used to spend debugging transparent actions like jQuery updates, are now freed up to tackle more important programming issues.” CyberMark is an Internet marketing firm that specializes in SEO and PPC programs, social media marketing and website development.

    INTEGRATED JOB QUEUE
Zend Server 5.0 Job Queue increases application performance and responsiveness by allowing jobs (PHP scripts) to be performed asynchronously or at recurring intervals, offloading tasks from client initiated Web requests to secondary processing. End users experience snappy responses in their Web browsers while long-running jobs like credit card processing, shipping and other activities proceed in the background. In addition, maintenance tasks such as database cleanup and RSS feed pulls can be run at specific times or at recurring intervals. The Job Queue feature is fully integrated into the Zend Server monitoring system and Web console, giving developers and other IT staff one place to monitor the overall execution of their applications, including status of jobs.

“Zend Server 5.0 plays a strategic role in helping us ensure a quality online shopping experience for our customers, even during peak traffic times,” said Josh Butts, director of Web development for Offers.com. “Zend Server monitors our application and performs code tracing to tell us when things go wrong and why, so we can quickly address issues as soon as they occur.”

    SUPPORT FOR PHP 5.3
Zend Server includes support for both PHP 5.2 and PHP 5.3, enabling programmers to take advantage of new language features such as namespaces and closures.

    OPERATING SYSTEMS
Zend Server 5.0 supports Linux and Windows; an IBM i version is currently in beta.

  2. Zend Technologies Polls Fast-Growing Zend Framework PHP Developer Community

Zend Survey Reveals Major Focus on Developing Business-Critical Web Applications Using Zend Framework, Growing Use of Mac OS X for Development, and Increased Demand for Training and Certification.

CUPERTINO, CA (PRWEB) February 16, 2010 — Zend Technologies, Inc., today announced results from ‘State of PHP and Zend Framework Development’, a global online survey of the Zend Framework PHP developer community conducted in December 2009. Survey responses reflected a high level of satisfaction with Zend Framework across a diverse group ranging from independent consultants to organizations with 5,000+ employees.

“The Zend Framework Open-Source Project debuted only four years ago and already more than 70% of the developers are using it for business-critical applications,” said Zeev Suraski, Chief Technology Officer at Zend Technologies. Survey results showed that Zend Framework is used by 58% of respondents for enterprise-level business critical-applications, and by 16% for department-level business-critical applications.

In terms of a production environment, 85% of PHP developers surveyed named Linux as their primary operating system while 11% named Windows and 2% named Mac OS X. When asked to name their primary operating system for development, 42% named Windows versus 38.5% who chose Linux and 19.1% who chose Mac OS X. For these same development environments, approximately 27% of respondents said they now use Zend Server and Zend Server Community Edition.

“We are seeing rapid and broad-based adoption of the Zend Server technologies that we released last year,” said Suraski. “At the same time, we are focused on integration of the framework, development tools and run-time environment to provide the developer community with an end-to-end solution. We believe this will take the already highly productive nature of PHP to the next level.”

In other survey results, close to 70% of respondents said they use Zend Studio or Eclipse PHP Development Tools (PDT) for development, and 18% use Vim. Close to 50% of respondents reported using PHPUnit to perform unit testing.

Zend noted that 46% of respondents said they plan to obtain Zend Framework Certification, joining close to 5% who are already certified. Developer Certification is increasingly viewed as a job market advantage, a view that is reflected in growing demand for Zend training materials including webinars and online training. Zend has responded with a new Zend Framework training and certification bundle that enables novice and advanced PHP developers to become proficient in Zend Framework and achieve certification.

  3. Zend Framework Adds Support for Microsoft Windows Azure and Deutsche Telekom Developer Garden
PHP Developers Can Use Cloud Storage Services and Telecommunications Interfaces Within the Zend Framework Open Source Project

CUPERTINO, California, January 28, 2010 – Zend Technologies Inc., the PHP Company, announces the availability of Zend Framework 1.10, the new release of its open source PHP web application framework. Zend Framework 1.10 includes support for Microsoft Windows Azure cloud services and the Deutsche Telekom Developer Garden platform. The new release also provides documentation and tutorial enhancements.

Persistent, Redundant Storage in the Cloud

  7. Zend Server 5.0 Slashes Problem Resolution Time, Boosts Performance of PHP Web Apps
New Version of Company’s Enterprise-grade Web Application Server Reduces Root Cause Analysis Time by up to 50 Percent; Adds Job Queues and Support for PHP 5.3

ZENDCON 2009, SAN JOSE, CALIF. – October 20, 2009 – Zend Technologies, the PHP company, today released a public beta of Zend Server 5.0, a major new version of the company’s enterprise-ready PHP Web application server.  Zend Server 5.0 includes a ground-breaking new feature – Code Tracing – that enables users to slash problem resolution time by up to 50 percent. For the first time, PHP developers and administrators can quickly pinpoint the root cause of a problem in production by viewing a “digital documentary” of the execution of their application – similar to a black box flight recorder in an airplane – and avoid the time-consuming task of recreating the problem.

“Zend Server gives organizations everything they need to deploy and manage business-critical Web applications, including the most up-to-date PHP, advanced application monitoring, and consistently high performance,” said Andi Gutmans, CEO and co-founder at Zend. “With Zend Server 5.0, we are revolutionizing how PHP developers can manage their production servers, significantly reducing the time spent on root cause analysis and resolution. We are proud to be the first to deliver this enterprise-grade feature to businesses using PHP.”

Zend Server is an essential part of Zend’s professional integrated solutions for developing and managing business-critical Web applications. Zend Server includes a complete, up-to-date PHP stack for PCI compliance, advanced monitoring and diagnostics for application reliability, industry leading code acceleration and page caching to maximize performance.  This is coupled with access to Zend’s expert technical support, online updates, hot fixes and security patches.  Zend Server is fully integrated with Zend’s Studio PHP IDE, Zend Framework, the most popular open source framework creating the fastest and easiest solution for developing and deploying reliable and secure Web applications.

The Code Tracing feature in Zend Server 5.0 takes root cause analysis to a whole new level, enabling operations, quality assurance, and development staff to significantly boost productivity and enhance application reliability. Similar in concept to an airplane black box flight recorder that captures the data required to analyze flight problems, Zend Server Code Tracing captures the full execution of an application in real-time, so IT staff can quickly find the root cause of a problem without having to reproduce it.  Code Tracing can be turned on and off by Zend Server’s Event Monitoring capability so that real-time PHP code execution is captured only during specified events, such as those triggered by performance degradation or other error conditions.  The trace is displayed in the Zend Server Web console to enable staff to view the complete execution history of an application and definitively pinpoint a problem’s root cause.  Zend Server Code Tracing can cut problem identification and resolution time by up to 50 percent.

In addition to Code Tracing, Zend Server 5.0 includes many other features to maximize the performance and reliability of PHP Web applications, such as Job Queues. Zend Server Job Queues increases application performance and responsiveness by allowing jobs (tasks) to be performed asynchronously or at recurring intervals, offloading long-running tasks from Web servers to back-end servers.  End users experience snappy responses in their Web browser while long-running jobs like credit card processing, shipping and other activities proceed in the background.  In addition, maintenance tasks such as database cleanup and RSS feed pulls can be run at specific times or at recurring intervals. The Job Queue feature is fully integrated into the Zend Server monitoring system and Web console, giving developers and other IT staff one place to monitor the overall execution of their application.

Zend Server also includes support for PHP 5.3, enabling programmers to more easily maintain, organize, and deploy concise, professional code for their applications with modern language features like namespaces and closures.

With Zend Server 5.0, the product line will also support IBM i, in addition to Linux and Windows.

  9. Zend Teams with IBM, Microsoft, Rackspace and Other Cloud Leaders on Open Source Initiative to Drive Cloud Application Development
New Simple API for Cloud Application Services Facilitates Development of Cloud Applications That Can Access Services on All Major Cloud Platforms

CUPERTINO, CALIF. – Sept. 22, 2009 – Zend Technologies, the PHP Company, today launched the Simple API for Cloud Application Services project, a new open source initiative that allows developers to use common application services in the cloud, while enabling them to unlock value-added features available from individual providers. The project aims to facilitate the development of cloud applications that can access services on all major cloud platforms.
Zend, IBM, Microsoft, Nirvanix, Rackspace and GoGrid are co-founding contributors to this community project.

The Simple Cloud API project empowers developers to use one interface to interact with a variety of cloud application services, enabling them to more easily access new technologies from cloud vendors. The first deliverables will include interfaces for file storage, document database, and simple queue services from platforms like Amazon Web Services, Windows Azure, Nirvanix Storage Delivery Network and Rackspace Cloud Files.  As a result, developers can deploy software applications to access services in these environments without making time consuming and expensive changes to their source code.

“Cloud computing offers irresistible value to enterprises of all sizes, but the lack of portability across cloud application services for even the most basic operations has been an impediment to broader adoption of cloud services,” said Andi Gutmans, CEO at Zend Technologies.

“The Simple Cloud API combines the benefits of open source community processes with the active participation of the cloud vendors themselves,” continued Gutmans.  “With early participation and support from industry leaders and the Zend Framework community, we anticipate that this important project will continue to grow, serving a wide range of application developers and businesses building modern Web applications for the cloud.”

The Simple Cloud API project is designed to encourage widespread participation and contributions from the open source community, resulting in the availability of Simple Cloud API adapters for virtually all major cloud providers.

Although led by Zend, the largest corporate contributor to the PHP programming language, the Simple Cloud API can be translated to any object-oriented language for the Web. The PHP implementation will be available in the widely adopted open source Zend Framework project as a new component, called “Zend Cloud.” PHP developers can take advantage of this new component to utilize existing client libraries available in Zend Framework in a uniform way.

Zend Cloud adapters will be available for services such as:

    • File storage services, including Windows Azure blobs, Rackspace Cloud Files, Nirvanix Storage Delivery Network and Amazon S3
    • Document Storage services, including Windows Azure tables and Amazon SimpleDB
    • Simple queue services, including Amazon SQS and Windows Azure queues

Zend Cloud will also provide adapters for local services to make offline coding and testing against cloud services as easy as connected development.

Other adapters, such as those for Rackspace Cloud Files API, will work with external libraries with no changes to application code. Microsoft is also contributing Simple Cloud API adapters, along with the official PHP client libraries for Windows Azure storage, to future versions of Zend Framework. These adapters will allow applications to take advantage of many Windows Azure features through the Simple Cloud API interface, while Microsoft’s client libraries will put Windows Azure innovations, such as transaction and partial upload support, at the fingertips of cloud application developers.

Dr. Kristof Kloeckner, CTO of IBM Cloud Computing, recognizes this effort as a significant step towards a more open and interoperable cloud. “The Simple Cloud API will enable developers to invoke cloud services in a common way across cloud providers.  This can significantly reduce the costs for application development and provide customer choice. To that end, IBM will be contributing adapters for IBM’s cloud service interfaces, as well as adapters to IBM’s data storage products, allowing developers to easily switch between public clouds, private clouds and traditional data center environments.“

“Microsoft is pleased to continue to work with Zend and join efforts with other contributors to this project,” said Doug Hauger, General Manager, Microsoft Windows Azure. “The Simple Cloud API is an example of Microsoft’s continued investment in the openness and interoperability of its platform. We’re excited to see how this project will foster adoption of cloud computing platforms by PHP developers and hope that many of these developers are encouraged to use Windows Azure.”

Lew Moorman, Chief Strategy Officer and President of the Rackspace Cloud, added, “We’re proud to be part of any initiative that delivers more value to developers in the cloud. Our contributions to the Simple Cloud API are part of our ongoing effort to bring the unique value of open source software to the cloud. Many of our customers use PHP as their Web application language of choice, and we believe that these developers should be able to choose which cloud services are the best fit for them through interfaces that they can help define.”

An initial Simple Cloud API proposal and reference implementation is available now for community review and participation at http://www.simplecloud.org.  Developers can also evaluate the Simple API for Cloud Application Services by deploying their applications that use it on the Amazon cloud using the freely available Zend Server Community Edition Amazon Machine Image (AMI) for EC2.  Zend Technologies also offers a Zend Server AMI that is commercially supported. A technology preview of the PHP client libraries for Windows Azure can be viewed and downloaded from: http://framework.zend.com/Zend_Service_WindowsAzure

  13. New Zend Framework 1.8 Delivers Rapid Application Development (RAD) for PHP
Open source project benefits PHP developers and managers with new code generation and application management features, including programming support for the Amazon cloud

CUPERTINO, Calif., May 1, 2009 – Zend Technologies, Inc., the PHP Company, announced today a new version 1.8 release of Zend Framework.  The project is an open, collaborative web application framework for PHP development and deployment that includes contributions from the open source community and Zend partners.

Rapid application development (RAD) is now possible with Zend Framework 1.8’s automated and customizable creation of PHP-based web applications.  This feature lets users create their own standards and processes for specific business needs when creating Zend Framework-based applications.

Cloud programming support for Amazon’s infrastructure is now also a part of Zend Framework, with both S3 (simple storage service) and EC2 (elastic compute cloud) components to help users quickly build web applications to both store and serve data, and to manage application instances in the Amazon cloud.  Cloud deployment means less upfront investment is needed by organizations seeking to leverage utility computing and scalable services and making some classes of web applications easier to scale and faster to develop.

“With true customizable RAD programming for PHP as well as support for cloud-based development, Zend Framework is the premier choice for businesses ranging from small to very large who are wanting to develop and deploy web applications in the quickest way possible,” said Zeev Suraski, co-founder and chief technology officer at Zend Technologies.

“Zend Framework is clearly the most popular PHP framework for professional use in the industry today and the timing could not have been better—with the availability of Zend Server released earlier this month, users can deploy our enterprise-grade framework and additionally get the performance and reliability of our new web application server,” Suraski continued. “Zend Server has been tuned to be the best solution for running Zend Framework applications in production, bar none.”

Zend Framework is freely available as part of the recently announced Zend Server ( http://www.zend.com/zendserverannounced ), as well as in a standalone download, and is supported by Zend Studio and Zend Server integration points for both development and deployment phases of the web application lifecycle.  Zend Studio’s built-in support allows users to easily code and customize their Zend Framework application in development and specific Zend Framework performance enhancements in Zend Server enable easy, reliable, and high speed deployment in production.  Zend Framework can be obtained as part of the free Zend Server Community Edition available here: http://www.zend.com/products/server/downloads-all

New Zend Framework 1.8 features and their benefits are listed below:

    • Rapid application prototyping is achieved with the Zend_Tool component.  It provides an advanced infrastructure for generating and managing Zend Framework applications.  Zend_Tool comes with a command line client (for instance, just type ‘zf create project’), however its additional remote procedure call-based (RPC) interface allows tooling components to be consumed via other RPC clients that may be custom-built for a user’s business need.  Additionally, while developers may use the provided functionality, they may also drop in their own tooling classes for Zend_Tool to auto-discover and consume—making this a versatile solution for rapid application development and code management.
    • Take your Zend Framework applications to the cloud. Zend Framework 1.8 adds components that support Amazon Web Services S3 and EC2, providing developers with the ability to both store and serve data redundantly for their applications as well as manage virtual machines in Amazon’s elastic compute cloud.
    • Zend Server backend for Zend Framework (ZF): use the Zend_Cache ZF component for Zend Server’s caching API to dramatically improve the performance of your PHP applications.
    • Re-usable and extensible application bootstrapping and initialization using Zend_Application.  This component provides an object-oriented and configuration-driven mechanism for setting up your PHP environment, for autoloading library code, and for application startup, making it very easy to create reusable and selective resource initialization routines for your particular application.
    • Internationalization with translation-aware web address routing by using locale-specific URLs in your Zend Framework MVC applications, plus locale support in numeric validation components, phone code support for locales, and support for filtering localized data to a normalized form and vice versa.

Other Zend Framework 1.8 updates too numerous to itemize include:

    • Ajax/JavaScript programming updated with Dojo version 1.3 plus arbitrary Dojo dijit types; comprehensive SOAP headers for enterprise data connectivity; Lucene search keyword fields with query strings and search across multiple indices; PDF document page scaling, shifting, and skewing; tag cloud creation and management; configurable site navigation elements like breadcrumbs, sitemaps, menus, and more; file upload progress meters for console and web applications; and JavaScript callbacks and literals for JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) data transfers.

Zend Server CE is a completely free version of Zend Server that runs on Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X, specifically tuned to address the needs of non-critical server deployments and for developer desktops/laptops everywhere.  Zend Server CE comes with the same high-performance opcode caching and easy-to-use PHP administration capabilities as the commercial Zend Server.  The Zend Server commercial subscription also announced today additionally provides technical support, application monitoring and diagnostics, and page-caching for even higher performance—all features that commercial users require to maximize the efficiency of their business-critical PHP applications.

“As PHP transitions from a dynamic, disruptive technology within enterprises to a mainstream technology option, it will be critical for it to be as manageable as the languages and platforms that preceded it,” said Stephen O’Grady, principal at RedMonk, a leading technology analyst firm. “With the introduction of a community-supported server product, Zend is providing the PHP community with the tooling and infrastructure that IT management is familiar with and relies upon, thus smoothing the way for broad adoption.”

Zend Server is the platform of choice for deploying open-source PHP and Zend Framework-based PHP applications, including rich Internet applications (RIAs) built on various client-side technologies such as the open-source Flex framework on the Adobe® Flash® platform and Dojo Toolkit or JQuery on JavaScript.

“Adobe is pleased that Zend Server tightly integrates with Zend Framework because of its strong support for the open-source Flex framework.  With the Zend Server Community Edition, PHP developers using the Flex framework can now enjoy a community-supported all-in-one PHP stack for deploying RIAs,” said Michele Turner, vice president of product marketing and developer relations for the Platform Business Unit at Adobe.  “Enterprise customers searching for the most cost-effective and productive way to create rich Internet applications will benefit from an integrated PHP stack like Zend Server as it will help increase development productivity even further.”

With a simple, 5 minute install Zend Framework and PHP RIAs and other popular PHP applications like Drupal CMS, SugarCRM, and more, can now be deployed easily, quickly, and with higher performance using Zend Server Community Edition.

Zend Server CE demonstrates the commitment of Zend Technologies to developer communities worldwide, regardless of operating system platform of choice.  Developers in the Windows community for example, are seeing more and more benefits of PHP in their Microsoft environments, including significant performance gains.

“Our firm’s partnership with Zend has altered the landscape for us in providing high-performance PHP on the Windows platform. In our own in-house stress testing using JMeter, we’ve maxed out 8 CPU cores at 100% executing thousands of PHP requests, and pages return quickly and without errors.  This simply wasn’t possible before,” said John Chertudi, systems administrator at Rubicon International, an educational technology services firm.  “We are able to design and support stable, high performing PHP applications on Windows thanks to the work done by Microsoft and Zend.”

  15. Zend Technologies Launches Zend Server for High Performance, Reliable, and Secure Deployment of PHP-Based Web Applications
Customers benefit from higher productivity, cost savings, and an integrated suite of Zend PHP solutions,
from development and testing to deployment and maintenance

CUPERTINO, Calif., April 7, 2009 – Zend Technologies, Inc., the PHP company, announced today the general availability of Zend Server, a Web application server that offers new levels of reliability, performance, and security for PHP-based Web applications. With a focus on usability and native updates, customers benefit from a complete IT-ready solution that also integrates Zend Studio for Eclipse and Zend Framework to make it faster and easier than ever before to develop and deploy rich, reliable, and secure Web applications using PHP.

The new Zend Server is a complete Web application solution that includes PHP, native install, an enhanced code accelerator, and advanced monitoring and problem diagnostics for applications designed for deployment on a single server. In addition, Zend Server automates software updates, hot fixes, and security patches on both Linux (native RPM and DEB based repositories) and Microsoft Windows (MSI), for quick and easy installation in less than 5 minutes. Zend Server supports the most popular databases, including Oracle® Database, MySQL, and Microsoft® SQL Server, as well as leading operating systems from Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu/Debian to Microsoft Windows Server and more.

“With our new Zend Server, it’s never been easier for customers to build and deploy on PHP even in the most demanding production environments,” said Eldad Maniv, vice president of marketing & products for Zend Technologies. “With this new release, customers will see dramatic improvements in performance, security, and reliability on top of the enterprise-class support and service that they have come to expect from our commercial solutions.”

“With more than 80 million users on our social network site – running our PHP-based social networking platform that is deployed on hundreds of servers – performance is a top priority at Tagged.com,” said Johann Schleier-Smith, founder and CTO at Tagged.com.  “Tagged has been growing exponentially, and Zend has been supporting our growth for over five years.  Zend Server’s production-level SLA support, including PHP updates–we have received critical fixes through this mechanism in the past, for specific PHP extensions–plus security hot fixes, and built-in byte code acceleration, are all absolutely essential to providing the reliability and responsiveness our users demand.

“In testing, we have measured significantly better performance with Zend Server than we were experiencing before,” remarked Schleier-Smith.  “We’re pleased that Zend has raised the bar for PHP performance and reliability with this next generation Web application server and its SLA-based support subscription.”

In addition to new benefits for performance, reliability, simplified deployment, and PHP application management, Zend Server gives customers the advantage of a global ecosystem of commercial and open source developers, systems integrators, and technology partners, including Microsoft and Oracle.

“Microsoft and Zend have collaborated for more than three years to make PHP a first-class citizen on Microsoft Windows.  Zend Server encapsulates the various efforts made by both companies and the community to deliver a reliable, scalable, out-of-the-box experience for running business-critical PHP applications on Windows,” said Bill Staples, general manager of Web platform and tools at Microsoft Corp.  “This continues our strategy to deliver choice and interoperability to our customers, and we are committed to continue supporting PHP on Windows.”

Oracle and Zend have a long-standing relationship to enable IT organizations to leverage the security, performance, and reliability of both Zend Server and Oracle Database for their PHP development and deployment needs.

“Oracle’s unique position as a complete software infrastructure provider is enhanced by our collaboration with Zend and their release today of Zend Server.  Customers with PHP implementations can now benefit from Oracle-specific features including database resident connection pooling support, and the unparalleled reliability, security, and performance of Oracle Database 11g.  They can also take advantage of Oracle’s unique high availability and scalability capabilities with Oracle Real Application Clusters and Oracle Data Guard,” said Mike Hichwa, vice president for software development at Oracle.  “We are confident that our customers will realize even greater gains from the combination of Zend Server with Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Enterprise Linux.”
