Optimize Table in MySQL
Optimize Table:
This query is used to reclaim the unused space and to defragment the data file. If you have made many changes to a table with variable-length rows than we can use this to optimize that table. This statement requires SELECT and INSERT privileges for the table. MySQL locks the table during the time OPTIMIZE TABLE is running.
Syntax:
OPTIMIZE TABLE [tbl_name]
Example:
OPTIMIZE TABLE wordlist;
